Blood on the Tracks

I just want to remind you all that these are my opinions. If you don't agree with the opinions you all have the opportunity to write what your feelings are.

Tangled Up In Blue

The album kicks off with Dylan by himself on the guitar singing a fast paced acoustic song. In this song he goes through some of the experiences he had with this girl. With this girl, he got emotionally attached to her. Feeling some sort of connection and feeling that they should be together. He tried and tried to make the relationship work as he says, " We drove that car as far as we could," Implying, we took the relationship as far as we could but it never really worked out . Throughout the whole song he deals with the difficulties of fate driving them away from each other but there love keeps bringing them back together. At the last verse he relies's that they just were not meant for each other. She felt something different then he did as he says, " We always did feel the same we just saw it from a different point of view."

I know that from my experience when I was in love I didn't let anything get in my way. I always tried to get that girl back when she left me. Maybe so discrete to the point where she didn't know. But the love I felt for her made me relies that I was not going to give up on her. After all the experiences that I had when I was getting hurt over and over again I guess I just reliesed that it wasn't meant to be even though it hurt like hell. Thats what Dillon is going through in this first song. The first stage of the breakup.

You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go
The title of this song pretty much explains the song. In this song he starts out compairing this relationship to prior relationships. Saying, " I've only known careless love." He never had a real love until this lady. As the relationship progresses he sees that eventually she is going to leave. He already knows that he will feel lonely when she leaves. The protaginist however is just glad that his past love problems are no where in sight.

Meet Me In The Morning
This song to me is a very important song. It is the point of the relationship where you notice you lost her and you are hoping she will wake up in the morning and say, "Meet me in the morning," to get back together. The love he feels for her is endless. When he says" They say the darkest hour is right before the dawn, But you wouldn't know it by me, Every day's been darkness since you been gone,." it just shows that he still has his love for her and hopes that she will reconsider.

Lily Rosemary and The Jack Of Hearts
This song kinda goes off the CD I think. A lot of people believe that this song shouldn't be on the album. I honestly think its a great song. I think that Lilly and Rosemary are different people. Nothing else I can say about this song. To complicated to really explain.

Simple Twist Of Fate
The song starts with a hard played acoustic guitar. As he starts his story with this prostitute he had a one night stand with. Its all about him and a prostitute meeting in the park early in the evening. They are together he feels this instant feeling of love towards her although she feels nothing towards him. They go to a hotel and have sex. He wakes up and she is not there. He tells himself he doesn't care. He feels the sense of lonliness and feeling of emptyness. At the end of the song he says with a simple twist of fate maybe they could have been happy together. This is a beautiful second song as it goes through the feeling of loneliness when you first break up. You don't want to accept that she is gone and at first you try to act tough when really your heart is ripped out of your skin.

Your A Big Girl Now
This song is pretty much a song of regret. He is so upset about doing what he did and he accepts that he blew his chances. As he says, "Its a price I have to pay." He pretty much dug his own grave and he was just pushed in it. The sense of regret and desperately wanting her back by begging to her saying, "I can change I swear."
The difference you can clearly see from this song from the first two songs is that this song is now saying that I was wrong and I am sorry. What can I do to make it up.

Idiot Wind
Possibly the most power song ever written by Bob Dylan. Delivered with so much passion and anger. This song is the words we all want to express to the person that hurt us. Its a song that puts blame on the other person for all the lost love in the relationship. He is bashing her the whole song how she put so much hurt in his heart and has destracted him by everything. This is the point of the relationship when you know its over and your upset about it. Your yelling and expressing your heart the only way you can. Towards the end of this long song Dylan changes some of his lyrics around. Going from, " Your an idiot babe," too, "We're idiots babe. This is important because its starts off by him blaming everything on her and now its changing to it not only being her fault. He is taking responsibility.

If You See Her Say Hello
This song an amazing song. This is the point in the relationship where you look back on all the good times and feel upset that your not together. Throughout the whole song he is saying how he would never forget her and how hurt he is about the relationship failing. The love he felt for her seems to be endless. This is the type of song that every line is quotable. MY favorite line of the song is, "She might think that I've forgotten her, don't tell her it isn't so." This line is so amazing to me because first of all the way its sang. He sings it with the pain of loosing her and the loneliness of not having her. He wants to be with her but knows that he is not aloud and it hurts him.
My second favorite line from this song is, " Sundown yellow moon I replay the past, I know every scene by heart, It all went by so fast." Its the typical feeling of when you break up and you relies its over. You look back and you just say wow.. I cant beleive its already over.

Shelter From The Storm
Wow.. What can I say about this song. I am afraid to write too much honestly because I know I can go on for hours on this song. This song pretty much is about all the pain and suffering he was before the break up and how she was always there to save him from all the pain he was going through. When he was with her it was like he was free of all of his problems. I know from my love life that when I had her in my arms and I just gazed into her eyes I just felt that everything else in the world could wait, she was the most important thing in my world.

Buckets of Rain
This song really sums up the whole album. There is no other writer that I know that can do this. He is telling her the stages of his pain throughout the whole sequence of events. With all the pain I believe he is saying he still loves her, still would do anything for her, and he will never stop loving her. This is really an amazing theme because I believe that when a person loves someone its not possible too loose their love for them. Now, it might dissipate but you will never loose it completely I believe.

This album is so amazing because you are able to relate to a person that has just gone through a tough breakup and he is telling you I think by writing this that your not the only one. We all have this hurt and we all go through the same stages, but it will eventually get better once you move on.
Life is full of letdowns and forks in the road. You cant let those things small you down because at the moment it might seem so big but looking back your going to compare it to the problems you have at that point and just say, Jease, those problems are miniscule and a joke to the problems I have today. Whats my point? when you go through a rough time, keep your head up and never forget that the sun will always rise the next day.

Bonjour!

Over the past couple weeks a couple friends and I were talking about starting a blog on reviewing albums because all these other websites pretty much suck.. None of us were really serious until one day I just said I am actually going to take action on a dream I once had to become a Journalist.
This web page is not going to be only new albums. It is going to be all over. I will suggest to you some albums as well as get requested to review a certain band. We will be reviewing shows that we went too. The main idea is anything with music.

Hi, My name is Saul. I have been a music lover since I can remember. I was born into a family that idolizes Bob Dylan. Up till a couple of years ago I just thought he was just some old annoying old guy complainging about the good old days like Springsteen. That was until the chapter of my life that I like to call, " A new life."

I was just going through my first heart break. I was really into this girl and she broke my heart. I had nothing or no one to relate too. Everyone that I spoke to told me that it was a part of life and that time heals all. But being ignorant I thought I was the only person that has ever gone through the pain I suffered. I was dead wrong. What I have learnt over my life is that every feeling, every thought, every word that comes to your mind is not original. There has been over 12 billion people ever to walk this planet. Imagine a person believing that there feelings were original? HA!

I came to relies this really when I first heard Blood on the Tracks. I finally felt like I had something to relate too. This album goes through all the stages of heartbreak. Denial, acceptance, and moving on. It goes through the heartache, the loneliness we all feel, and the pain of separation. For my first review I will be starting with my favorite album, "Blood on the Tracks."
